ThunderClan after Twilight! }{ Firestar Retire...

This would happen many moons after Twilight. I have only read up to Twilight so NO SPOILERS please ;D I will write more chapters later. This focuses on Firestar and Sandstorms second litter. The new kits are two she-cats Shadowpaw and Wildpaw. It also focuses on Brackenfur and Sorreltails first litter but they had different kits. Owlpaw and Tigerpaw, both toms. Enjoy!


CHAPTER 1
Owlpaws Point Of View

Nothing had been the same since the badger attack.All the warriors were nervous and the wounds that were made several moons ago, were still there. Owlpaw had been told of the attack many times within his lifetime. Owlpaw stretched and lazily flopped down. He was the only one awake in the apprentices den. He then noticed a sleek black she-cat with green eyes. It was Shadowpaw, the friendly she-cat. She could be moody and spazzy but was generally friendly. Owlpaw then slowly shut his eyes and drifted off to sleep. He had the dream again. Owlpaw felt himself running through the camp with Shadowpaw's pelt brushing beside him. "Owlpaw," She whispered. "Owlpaw!" "Yes?" Owlpaw replied. "Owlpaw....Owlpaw! OWLPAW!" "What??" With a jump, he awoke. "Come on! We have to go hunting!"Shadowpaw impatiently mewed. "Oh.... Sorry Shadowpaw." "Come on!" Shadowpaw then bounded out of the apprentices den. Owlpaw followed her to where CloudTail, Squirrelflight, Sandstorm and SorrelTail were waiting. "Honestly, Owlpaw, you could sleep through a badger attack!" Cloudtail meowed. "You're almost as bad as Firestar."he growled. "Well, what are we waiting for?" SorrelTail happily meowed. Owlpaw sniffed the air.Nothing. No vole, mouse, shrew. Nothing. Owlpaw thought about his dream. He had had it so many times and he didnt know why. Everytime, it was Shadowpaw. Then Owlpaw widened his eyes and gasped, he was in love with Shadowpaw!

Chapter 2
Shadowpaws Point Of View


"Owlpaw?" Shadowpaw mewed. "Are you ok?" "Of course Im fine! Why wouldn't I be fine? Just leave me alone!" Owlpaw snapped and padded away. "But I...I...."Shadowpaw sighed. Owlpaw is my best friend! Why did he treat me that way? Shadowpaw shrugged and continued to hunt. Shadowpaw padded back into camp to see Wildpaw, her sister in the apprentices den. "Hi sis!" Wildpaw mewed. "Hi..." Shadowpaw glumly mewed. "Whats wrong?" Wildpaw questioned her sister. "Nothing..." she replied. "Im not blind! Whats wrong Shadowpaw, you can tell me..." Wildpaw purred "Nothing! Why do you have to be so obnoxious and snoopy! Nothings wrong and thats that!!!" Shadowstorm angrily ran out of the den."Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here for a meeting below Highledge!" Firestar rasped. Shadowpaw looked up at her father proudly. It was so amazing that her father was the great Firestar. "Hi Shadowpaw!" Shadowpaw turned to see her much older sister. "Hi Squirrelflight!" Shadowpaw meowed. "I wonder what this meetings about..." Squirrelflight wondered out loud. "Me too!" Shadowpaw gazed up at her older sister. She was the great Squirrelflight, the cat who had gone on the journey."Hi Squirrelflight!" Brambleclaw padded over to Squirrelflight and Shadowpaw. "I heard the weirdest thing... it was..." Brambleclaw was interupted by Firestar. "I woke up this morning and I couldnt get up, Im getting older and weaker and my legs are getting stiff. This is why... I am retiring as leader!"

Chapter 3
Squirrelflights Point of view

Squirrelflight gaped. "No, NO! Firestar Dont do it!" You are a great leader and no one could ever replace you! Please, No Firestar!!!" "Sorry but I think that a younger cat would be a better leader than me." The current deputy, Brambleclaw will now be your leader." "That was the weird thing I heard..." Brambleclaw muttered. Brambleclaw cant be leader! No! This cant happen! "No, Firestar! You led us through TigerStars treachery, fire, tough times with BlueStar, Scourge and Bloodclan and the badger attack. No one could ever be the same as you or replace you!" Squirrelflight desperately meowed. "Im sorry, but my mind is made up." Firestar then padded away slowly and started to talk with the elders. "Well, as your new leader I am proud to name our new deputy." Brambleclaw meowed. It must be me. Squirrelflight thought. If he truly loves me, then he will pick me! "Cloudtail" Brambleclaw mewed. "WHAT?" Squirrelflight hissed. Every cat stared at Squirrelflight. "Uh..... Sorry" Squirrelflight padded away while Brambleclaw finished the ceremony. How could he not pick me? I would make a great deputy! Brambleclaw padded over to Squirrelflight. "Wow! I cant believe Im leader! I got my goal the right way, unlike Hawkfrost. Happy for me?" Brambleclaw asked. "Sure whatever...." she angrily hissed. "Squirrelflight?" Brambleclaw mewed confused. Fire burned in Squirrelflights eyes. "Leave me alone, dont even TALK to me!" Squirrelflight padded out of the den angry and confused. Why didnt he pick me? I have an apprentice! I am not nursing kits. Darkness filled the black sky. Squirrelflight suddenly realized how late it was when she drifted off to sleep. Squirrelflight was in a clearing with no cats around her when suddenly a starry cat appeared out of nowhere. "Squirrelflight! Trouble will come, Two will battle and one will rule the Clan." It was a blue-gray she-cat with a starry pelt. "Bluestar?" The starry cat nodded as it faded into the depths of nothingness. Squirrelflight awoke with a confused mind.Why did SHE get the message, what could she do to stop it, What did it mean?

Chapter 4
Shadowpaws point of view

Shadowpaw had a disturbing sleep. How could her the great, legendary leader of ThunderClan just retire? Firestar was far from an old cat. Brambleclaw should be coming back at any time as Bramblestar. Shadowpaw looked at Owlpaw. Owlpaw was saying her name over and over again. "Owlpaw?" she hissed. "You're doing it again!" Shadowpaw clawed Owlpaws ear. "Huh/ Whats going on? Are we under attack?" Owlpaw yowled. "Be Quiet!" Shadowpaw growled. "You keep saying my name in your sleep!" "Uh... Er... Sorry I Er.... Dunno..." Owlpaw stuttered. "What in StarClans name are you babbling about?" Shadowpaw hissed. "Err... nothing... I Er... Uh..." "Just stop saying my name!" Shadowpaw hissed. Shadowpaw then crept out of the den and saw Squirrelflight sitting in the clearing. "Squirrelflight?" Shadowpaw meowed. "What are you doing here?" Squirrelflight growled. "Getting away from Owlpaw. He is awful moody lately and he keeps saying my name in his sleep. He is acting like a.... like a... kit!" Shadowpaw explained. "A love-sick kit?" Squirrelflight asked. "What in StarClans name?" Shadowpaw hissed. "Oh, come on Shadowpaw! You of all cats should see the signs. He is acting weird about you, he has dreams about you and have you seen his gaze at you? He looks like he is having a wonderful dream!" Squirrelflight replied. Shadowpaw growled " What are you doing here?" "I cant believe that Brambleclaw didnt choose me for deputy! Does he not truly love me? I dont know why but I feel more for Ashfur than Brambleclaw." Squirrelflight replied. "Its been nice talking to you Shadowpaw." Squirrelflight rushed to the warriors den. Shadowpaw knew her sister was hiding something. She just had to figure out what.

Chapter 5
Squirrelflights Point Of View

Squirrelflight watched as Shadowpaw padded to her own den looking confused and thoughtful. Does my sister feel something more than friendship for Owlpaw? Shadowpaw reminded her of herself. Squirrelflight had looked up to Brambleclaw as a friend then realized it was something more. Did Shadowpaw feel that way about Owlpaw? Squirrelflight listened in the bushes as a dark figure appeared. It was a cat who was muscular and big. It was... It was... "SHADOWCLAN!!!" Squirrelflight yowled. Instantly, cats from everywhere woke up and saw a team of ShadowClan warriors standing in the bushes. The cats sprung into quarrel instantly. Squirrelflight sprung onto a dark brown tabby and dug her claws into his back. The ShadowClan cat shrieked in pain and flew across the clearing. Squirrelflight then caught a glimpse of Leafpool struggling with a huge orange-red she-cat. Squirrelflight rushed over to her sister and hurled the she-cat off. The she-cat came back and bowled Squirrelflight over. Squirrelflight felt claws rake her belly. She was trapped by the she-cat. The cat pulled back for the final blow when it was flung off by the four apprentices. The apprentices covered the she-cat and soon it burst through the clearing towards ShadowClan. Shadowpaw and Squirrelflight fought side by side with the strength of StarClan. Soon, all of the ShadowClan cats were gone. "Brambleclaw?" Squirrelflight saw the brown tabby come into the camp. "Actually, its BrambleStar and what was that about? All I saw were ShadowClan cats leaving the camp." Bramblestar asked. "They just came to our camp and attacked for no reason." Squirrelflight sighed "Hows it feel to be leader?" "Great!" Bramblestar replied. "I think Fireheart will be happy that you are leader." Dustpelt came over to congratulate Bramblestar. Squirrelflight didnt know why but something was not right. Something she couldnt understand...

Chapter 6
Shadowpaws Point Of View

Shadowpaw was glad the battle was over. She had a cut on her paw and her flank was lightly bleeding. Leafpools den was crowded with needy cats so Shadowpaw just ignored her wounds and walked over to Owlpaw. "Hi Owlpaw!" Shadowpaw mewed. "Hi Shadowpaw!" he replied. "I chased off a huge red tom with SorrelTail while Wildpaw and Tigerpaw did nothing! They were such cowards! They helped me fend off an orange she-cat then they left and stayed in the apprentices den!" Owlpaw meowed. "Cowards!" Shadowpaw spat. Shadowpaw didnt know why, but whenever she talked to Owlpaw, her fur prickled and she felt a strange feeling. Shadowpaw shook off the feeling and thought about her older sister. Squirrelflight was definately hiding something. Shadowpaw needed to know what it was so she talked to her sister. Squirrelflight was busy talking to BrambleStar and Ashfur. Squirrelflight turned around. "Oh, Hi Shadowpaw! Whats up?" Squirrelflight greeted. "I need to talk to you!" Shadowpaw replied. "...Err.. Ok... Sure Erm... What About?" "Is something troubling you? You seemed like you didnt want to talk to me that night! You left in such a hurry." "Err.... Nothing... Everything is Er.. Fine...." Squirrelflight stuttered. "Come on Squirrelflight! Im not blind! Whats troubling you?" Squirrelflight sighed. "Theres no chance of getting rid of you..... I had a dream.... BlueStar came to me, You know, the leader before Firestar. She told me a message...." "Well, what was it?" Shadowpaw asked. "It was Two will battle and one will rule the Clan....." Squirrelflight muttered. Bramblestar yowled the familiar Clan meeting call. All the cats gathered beneath the Highledge. Whats this about? Shadowpaw wondered. Dont tell me HE is retiring already.... "Shadowpaw and Owlpaw!" "What??" Shadowpaw had been so busy wondering that she hadnt been paying attention. "You and Owlpaw are becoming warriors! Get up there!" Squirrelflight meowed. Me? A warrior? Wow! I cant believe it! Shadowpaw and Owlpaw walked up to Highledge. "I, Bramblestar, leader of ThunderClan call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these two brave apprentices. They have trained very well and understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn." Bramblestar paused and looked proudly at the apprentices. "Owlpaw, Shadowpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan even at the cost of your lives?" Shadowpaw couldnt believe this was happening! She gazed at Owlpaw who was looking astonished as well. "I do" Owlpaw meowed shakily. Shadowpaw realized it was her turn. " I....I.... I DO!" Shadowpaw yowled."Then I give you you your warrior names, Owlpaw, you shall now be known as Owlpelt. You are a brave, wise, strong tom. I hope you can use your talents to better the Clan." Bramblestar meowed. "Thank you!" Owlpelt meowed. "Shadowpaw, you shall now be known as ShadowStorm. You are a strong, intelligent, trustworthy and loyal she-cat. I hope you will use your talents to better the Clan." BrambleStar finished. "Thank You!" Shadowstorm meowed. "Shadowstorm! Owlpelt!" The cats below cheered. She knew she had to take her vigil that night. There was no cat she would rather share it with.
