Step by step
heart to heart...
Left right left
we all fall down...
Like toy soldiers...
Crowpaw raced through the mountain cavern.
“Sharptooth! Everyone, run!” They all ran, aware of the explicit danger they were in.
It wasn’t my intention to mislead you...
It never should have been this way...
What can I say...
“Crowpaw!” The love of his life, Feathertail, called out to him as she ran to help him warn the others.
It’s true. I did extend the invitation...
I never knew how long you’d stay...
“This way! Run! Feathertail, follow me!” Crowpaw raced towards the ledge, unaware of what would happen next.
When you hear temptation’s call...
It’s your heart that takes, takes the fall...
Won’t you come out and play with me?
Sharptooth chased Feathertail to the edge. She came to a sudden halt ,and Sharptooth fell over the edge. But Feather tail was hanging off the edge.
Step by step
Heart to heart
Left right left
We all fall down
Like toy soldiers...
Bit by bit
Torn apart
We’ll never win
But the battle wages on
For toy soldiers...
“Crowpaw!” She screamed.
“Feathertail!” He called. Dashing up to the ledge he reached for her paw. But it was too late. She fell over the edge, and her body lay broken at the bottom.
It’s getting hard to wake up in the morning.
My head is spinning constantly...
How can it be?
How could I be so fine with this addiction?
If I don’t stop, the next one’s gonna be me...
“Tallstar, I would like to choose my own name. I would like to be known as Crowfeather, after... after the cat who didn’t make it through the journey.”
Only emptiness remains...
It replaces all...
All the pain...
Won’t you come out and play with me?
Crowfeather stared longingly at a small pretty she-cat- the Thunderclan medicine cat apprentice, Leafpaw. What was he doing? She was a medicine cat, and they were of different clans... And he was in love with Feathertail, his dead love. ‘What should I do?!’

The Shadowclan cats chased Leafpool across the rocks. Crowfeather watched on with fearfulness in his eyes... This was so much like what had happened before... But he couldn’t let Leafpool fall off of the edge that was only moments away. He loved her.
Only emptiness remains...

All the pains...
Won’t you come out and play with me?
Leafpool clung to the edge of the cliff desperately. The two Shadowclan warriors lay broken at the bottom. She couldn’t die, she just couldn’t...
“Crowfeather!” She pleaded. “Help me!”

Crowfeather and Leafpool lay gasping on the ground.
“I did it. I saved you.” He breathed.
“I must be the last cat you want to save.” Leafpool laughed.
“Do you really think that? Don’t you know how I feel about you? I loved Feathertail, I really did. How can I love you too?”
“Me? But-“
“You walk in my dreams, Leafpool.” Leafpool gasped. She knew she shouldn’t, but this was what she’d wanted him to say all along. She loved him too.

Crowfeather and Leafpool raced into the Thunderclan camp, the roaring of cats and badgers mingled. Leafpool screamed as she saw her mentor, Cinderpelt, dead in the nursery.
“NO!” She screamed. At that moment, Crowfeather knew that they would never be together again.
“Leafpool, you said that Spottedleaf told you to follow your heart. This must be where your heart lay.” Crowfeather mewed quietly. Leafpool turned to look at him, tears in her eyes.
“I’m sorry.” She breathed.
“I understand. Being a medicine cat was always more important to you than I will ever be.” He replied, but pain and sadness was flowing out of him as he accepted his mate’s rejection. He knew that they were over.
