The pale ginger she-cat hissed with anoyance to hide her growing embarresmeant. That mouse had praticly sat between her paws. She turned to the rest of the hunting patrol, Mousefur, Thornpaw, Cloudtail and Dustpelt. Mousefur let out a mrrow of laughter. "What's wrong, Sandstorm? Was the mousey wousy too fast for ThunderClan's best hunter?" Sandstorm turned away as her cheeks turned red. "No way," Cloudtail mewed mockingly. "Sandstorm is the fastest most beatiful cat in the whole forest." He rolled his ice blue eyes. "Just ask Firestar." Sandstorm couldn't help but cast a glance at Dustpelt. She had almost let Firestar slip her mind.
"I love you too, Fireheart," she had told him. Maybe then those words had meant something but then the handsome, young, carefree warrior and friend she had known had been whisped away along with all her feeling for him. In her heart, Sandstorm knew Firestar's only true love was his clan.
"Coming?" the voice that snapped her out of her thoughts was Dustpelt's. He walked over to her and pressed his side against hers. "You sure your all right? Maybe you should go see Cinderpelt." Sandstorm nodded. "Hey Cloudtail," Dustpelt called. "I'm gonna walk Sandstorm back to camp."
"Okay, you lovebirds stay outta trouble." Sandstorm's blushed at Cloudtail's words. But somehow a walk alone with Dustpelt didn't sound bad.
Pelts brushing, the two walked together. Sandstorm began to notice that Dustpelt wasn't leading them to camp. Instead he was leading her to a small clearing. Sandstorm turned to look at him and the way he looked back at her, words wern't needed. He loved her and she loved him. "I-I-" Sandstorm stammered.
Rain began to fall as the tree bark brown and flame ginger fur matted together. "I shouldn't love you."
