Organizational Explanation [fanfiction] 1.0

The boards are set up into general categories and boards to help you find what you are looking for. This thread will also help you distinguish the ratings system, if you are unfamiliar with it, and a small glossary for common terms.

Canon Fanfictions

Canon can easily be described as "in the books". This means it sticks to the book's original characters and setup. Stories generally, but not always conform, by the same plot line as the books. Generally Warriors canon fics take the original characters, and twist the plot or storyline to supply the focus of the story (a shipping, character, or issue) better.

A fan-fiction about the in-book characters within the four clans (Sandstorm, Fireheart, Graystripe, Cloudtail, Tigerclaw etc.) would be considered canon, because those characters are within the books.

Canon Clans Fan-fiction

Now that you are aware of what canon means, it's fairly simple to figure out what Canon Clans are. Said fanfictions are stories which take place in the new forest or the old forest, within the five Clans (ThunderClan, RiverClan, ShadowClan, WindClan, StarClan). They generally take place in the past or future of the Warriors books. In extension this also includes [the] Tribe fan-fictions.

Non-Canon Clans Fan-fiction

Non-Canon Clans are a popular idea within Warriors Fan-fiction. They take place not in the original five Clans, but a different set of Clans developed by the author, which follow the same hierarchy of the Clans, and are so similar to the Clans that they can be considered fanfictions.

Rewrite Fan-fiction

Rewrites are when authors of the fan-fiction "rewrite" a book within the Warriors series. The story takes different twists and develops into a different plot with the same concepts and characters as the original book.

Comical And Parody Fan-fictions

Comical and parody fanfictions are virtually always canon, and their purpose is to poke fun at the series. A successful C&P fanfic will make fans laugh or smile, and is always humorous.

Ratings Explanation

	General is used to rate all fanfictions which are suited to all ages, and contain no graphic violence, sensitive topics, or swearing.
	PG is used to rate all fanfictons which are suitable for everyone who reads the Warriors series. They may contain violence, and/or minimal swearing.
	PG13 are used to rate fanfictions which are reccomended for those readers 13+. They may contain excessive graphic violence, sensitive topics, swearing and darkness/horror.

*All icons that have a red exclamation point may contain references to, or feature, slash or femslash pairings. These refer to malexmale or femalexfemale relashionships. If you are uncomfortable with said materiel, please avoid it. (All slash fanfictions remain with their color ratings, and will always be under PG13.
