The dawn air was cold, and the unrelenting wind swept over the Vale of Three Shadows, where the WindClan lived. The sky was still dark as coal, but light was pulling away the night with it's malevolant golden hands. IceBlood stood on the abandoned castle ruins, on the edge of a once-great building, that must have been the home of a great knight, or lord. The stone wall, broken, but still strong from the thorns growing around it, had been refuge to many cats in their time of need. And now was no different. As IceBlood watched, his kits were being born. A mewing she-cat lay limp on a slap of cold, hard stone, and beside her, three kits, a red-and-black, a dark blue-grey, and a pure white. Then the rain came, lightly at first, then in a downpour. IceBlood watched, cold fury in his eyes. The she-cat had been his old mate, until he himself had chased her out of Windclan. He shuddered. She was just too much of a-well, of a weirdo. She used to sprinkle her den with strange-smelling herbs and flowers, saying the “aura” would be better this way. He could hear the kits now. Screaming for warmth, for milk, for life. Slowly, he padded down to them, his white coat heavy with rain. The blue and white kits both kept on mewing, but the black didn’t. It’s eyes were not yet open, but it was staring in IceBlood’s direction with pure venom. It hardly shivered at all as the rain saturated it’s coat. Snarling, IceBlood picked the white and grey kits up in his mouth, and then reached for the third. But on second thought…yes. He would just leave it here to die. Looking around him, he darted up toward the river, where he would end the useless kits’ lives quickly.

RussetWolf stole up to where the abandoned kit lay, snuggled beside it’s dead mother. She glanced over her shoulder. No, IceBlood was gone alright. And had taken the kits with him. Well, it was too late for them, but not for this one! She deftly picked her way through the thorns whilst carrying the swinging kit in her mouth. He was already quite heavy, for a newborn. She was just at the river, where she would wash him so he would smell like nothing, when he bit her. She yowled, frightened, as he latched onto her under-chin skin with his gums, and even though he had no teeth, he scratched her face and eyes. Setting him down, where he began to play contentedly with his tail, she stared at him with much more apprehension now. Had she done the wrong thing in saving this kit? And what would it bring for the clan?
Hope u lyke! I'll post anudder chapter if u guys lyyyyke it!
