[glow=red,2,300]PROLOUGUE[/glow]
Night lay heavily over the forest. No wind blew. Nothing stirred from their dens. Below a hollow, a pool of water flowed genly between moss covered stones. It sparkled as a single gust of wind blew over it. For a heartbeat it rippled, then it layed still once again. Out of the shadows, a blue-gray she-cat emerged from the darkness. She scented the air. Nothing. No one else was here. Frustrated, she sat down and drew her paw over her ear a few times. Then she sat down. The cat then looked at the pool, and waited. Heartbeats pass, then minutes, then hours. Still no one showed. The she-cat started to get concerned. Something must be wrong, she thought. Then suddenly, another cat emerged from the darkness. This was an old cat, a cat whom the she-cat had not met. She had not planned to meet him here. "Who there?" she asked. "Who are you?" The other cat did not answer her question. Instead he asked, "Why are you waiting here?" "I have to meet someone here," she answered cautiously. "I see." The old cat sat down, his amber pelt glistening in the pale moonlight. "I have not seen you before," she mewed. "I do not come here often," he answered. "My old bones can only travel so far." "Then why are you here?" The old cat stood up, his eyes shining like two pale suns. "It was my duty to come here, Bluestar," he mewed. Before Bluestar could comment the old cat mewed. "Do you know of them?" "Know of who?" Bluestar demanded. "Who are you?" "I thought you would have heard of me by now, Bluestar," he rasped. "My name is Skystar. I was SkyClan's first leader." Bluestar stared at him for a minute, then shook her head. "Why have you come to me?" "The time for change has come," he mewed. "There are troubling times ahead. Nothing will be the same again." Bluestar stared at him. "Do you mean-" "Yes," he interrupted. "After countless moons of waiting, their time has come. We are powerless. All we can do is wait." "There is still hope," Bluestar argued. "Bluestar," Skystar sighed. "I envy your faith, and I respect your authority. But we have to face fact. We cannot control the future. We can only see it. There is no way we can control them. And you know that as well as I do." Bluestar did not reply at once. She drew in a long breath and sighed. "How can you be sure?" "StarClan sent me here to tell you this. Out of all cats they thought you would listen to me. You must understand- we still have hope." "But-" "StarClan will do what they can," he interrupted. "But all we can do is watch and wait." Skystar stood up and padded back into the darkness. Bluestar was left alone at the pool. She sighed in worry. Was he right? Was there even hope for the clans? For them? But as the thought ran through her mind, she saw them. Countless battles, death, and blood intersected their path. A harsh wind blew over the she-cat, chilling her to the bone. "He is right," she murmured. She closed her eyes. "Their time has come. There is nothing left for us to do." Bluestar stood up, and like mist, the wind blew her away. Only the faint glow of her eyes remained a heartbeat longer.

CHAPTER 1
All was silent. Wildkit was alone in the dark. She felt as if something was watching her, waiting... "Giarr!" A yowl sounded from behind her. A flurry of black and gray fur whipped past her and knocked Wildkit over. Breathless and surprised she spun around and kicked the attacker off of her and scent them flying across the clearing. Hissing, the cat got up and spun around to meet Wildkit. "What are you two doing?" Rainkit and Wildkit froze at their mother's yowl. She was running towards them, annoyance in her eyes. "You and Rainkit are always getting into trouble," Cherrytail scolded. "We were just playing," Rainkit argued, her one blue eye and one green eye glowing with innocence. Wildkit chuckled. Rainkit could always put on a great act. "Then play quieter," Cherrytail sighed. "Honestly, I cannot wait until you're apprenticed." Cherrytail turned around and ran into their father's den. Rainkit turned to Wildkit. Her frustration showed clearly. "Why does Cherrytail always ruin the fun?" she grumbled. "Who knows?" Wildkit responded. Looking down at her paw she noticed a small ball of moss. Thinking quickly she picked it up and flung it out of the nurcery. "Bet i'll get it before you!" Wildkit hissed playfully. "Yeah right!" Pushing out of the den Wildkit and Rainkit raced towards the moss ball. The ball of moss had stopped in front of the apprentice's den. Rainkit was ahead. "I'm beating yo-oof!" Rainkit ran straight int Icepaw, who was coming out of the apprentices den with a bigger ball of moss in her mouth. When Rainkit hit her she spit the ball out and fell to the ground, winded. Rainkit scrambled to her paws and gasped. "Sorry Icepaw!" she mewed, her eyes filled with guilt. Icepaw scrambled up, her pelt covered with moss. In spite of her guilt, Rainkit burst out laughing. Icepaw whipped her head around to glare at the kit. "What's so funny?" she asked angrily. "You..." Rainkit stammered. "You look like a swamp monster!" Wildkit collapsed next to Rainkit laughing. It was true. Icepaw looked as if she had falled into a swamp. Icepaw narrowed her eyes playfully. "Not for long!" Icepaw sprang at Rainkit with a huge peice of moss in her jaws. Rainkit hissed playfully and leaped to avoid Icepaw's attack. But Icepaw was fast. She pinned Rainkit down and put the piece of moss on her head. "Who's the swamp moster now?" she laughed. Wildkit spotted another piece of moss and raced to help her littermate. But Icepaw was ready. She flung another piece of moss into the air and it landed straight on Wildkit's head. She stopped and ducked down. "You win, all mighty apprentice!" she teased. Icepaw spat playfully. "Okay, that's enough," she purred in laughter. "I think we all look like swamp monsters now." Icepaw let Rainkit get up and shake the moss off. "What are you doing Icepaw?" All three cats turned their heads to see Flamefoot, her mentor since Patchfoot's death, padding towards them. His eyes were filled with annoyance. "You're supposed to be collecting moss for the warriors den, not playing with it!" "Sorry, Flamefoot," Icepaw apologized, dipping her head in embarrasment. Flamefoot continued to glare at her. Wildkit burst out. "It's not her fault! It's ours. She was collecting the moss. Rainkit and I ran into her. We're sorry." Icepaw cast them a grateful glance. Flamefoot looked at the kits, his gaze softening. "Don't let it happen again." "Yes, Flamefoot." "Icepaw," Flamefoot meowed, turning to his apprentice. "Clean this up, and put it down for bedding. Then you can do what you want." "Yes Flamefoot," Icepaw mewed. Flamefoot gazed at her. "You're going to be a warrior soon," he mewed calmly. "Remebmber all of your training, and be the best warrior you can be." Before Icepaw could respond, Flamefoot whipped around and bolted out of the camp with a patrol behind him. "What's wrong with Flamefoot?" Rainkit asked. Icepaw sighed. "He's probably thinking about Tinywhisker," she answered. "Oh," Rainkit mewed, looking down. Tinywhisker was Flamefoot's mate. She was killed right after they were born by Bouncefoot. Ever since Flamefoot has had some times where he was outgoing and cheerful, and others where he was bitter and upset. Wildkit couldn't help feeling bad for him. "Well, I have work to do," Icepaw mewed, picking up the stack of moss she had piled up. Waving her tail in farewell, she turned around and padded into the warriors den. "Hi Wildkit. Hi Rainkit. What are you doing?" The sound of their sister, Bramblekit, sounded from behind him. Wildkit turned around and saw her hyper sister, her eyes lit up as usual. Bramblekit was a lgiht brown tabby with blue eyes and a white chest and belly. "I heard Rockstar's gonna have a clan meeting today." At that moment, their father's call echoed through the camp. "Looks like you're right," Rainkit meowed. "How do you always know when things like this happen?" Bramblekit shrugged. "I dunno." Soon the whole clan was in the clearing, surrounding Rockstar's den. Along with Bramblekit, Wildkit and Rainkit, their other littermates Wavekit, Shinekit, Smokekit, and Brookkit, joined in the crowd. Though their family was unually big, they were all close. "I have an announcement to make," Rockstar began, his black fur blowing in the wind. Wildkit shivered. Somehow her father always looked so powerful when he talked to the whole clan. The clan murmurings stopped and everyone looked looked at their leader. "As you know, our clan needs more warriors," he started. "For this, and many other reasons, I have decided it is time to make Icepaw and Lightningpaw warriors." Icepaw and Lightningpaw, who were sitting right next to the kits, glanced at eachother excitedly. One cat called out, "Well done!" and Icepaw purred. Rockstar looked at them affectionately. The SkyClan leader was fond of the two cats, especially Icepaw. Wildkit had no clue why. "Come up here, both of you." Icepaw and Lightningpaw didn't hesitate to leap up onto the rock beside Rockstar. Rockstar looked up at the new-leaf sun. "I, Rockstar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Icepaw and Lightningpaw, do you promice to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend this clan, even at the cost of your lives?" "I do." Icepaw and Lightningpaw didn't hesitate to make their promice. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Icepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Icepool. StarClan honors you faith and courage, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SkyClan." Icepool purred and licked his shoulder. Her eyes shone with pride. "Lightningpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Lightningstrike. StarClan honors your bravery and enthusiasm, and we welcome you as a full warrior of SkyClan." Lightstrike licked Rockstar's shoulder. "Icepool, Lightningstrike, Icepool, Lightningstrike!" The clan chanted their names with yowls and congratulatory purrs. Once the noice died down, Rockstar continued. "We need an evening patrol. Any volunteers?" "I'll go!" Icepool meowed. "So will I," Nightflash stood up, looking at Icepool. "Anyone else?" Rockstar meowed. "I'll go, Rockstar," Sagepelt mewed. "Thank you, Sagepelt," Rockstar mewed. "With that said, this meeting is over." The SkyClan leader didn't hesitate to leap down and pad to the newly named warriors. Wildkit turned to Rainkit. "Did you notice Rockstar?" Rainkit tipped her head to one side. "Did you notice how tense he was?" Wildkit explained. "I did," Shinekit mewed, standing next to Rainkit. Shinekit looked exactly like Rainkit. The only difference between them was that Rainkit had one green eye and one blue, and Shinekit had both blue eyes. "He sounded... upset." "I noticed that too." Smokekit shouldered his way to stand next to Shinekit. Smokekit was a light and dark gray tom with amber eyes. Usually he was grumpy and boring, and usually didn't join in their conversations. Unless the topic interested him, that is. "His tail was quivering as he spoke." "Yeah," Brookkit squeaked. Brookkit was pretty much a copy of Cherrytail with the same cheerful disposition. "Your all over-reacting," Wavekit joined in. "Whatever's bothering him, it can't be serious if he didn't announce it to the clan." He has a point, Wildkit thought. Wavekit was a black tom just like his father, and in every way acted the same. "I agree," Bramblekit added. "Rockstar wouldn't keep secrets from the clan." Would he? Wildkit asked herself. Something was wrong- and Wildkit felt that it would be unleashed in a storm.
Tada!! Like it? BTW I know what your thinking- "I thought Icpaw was supposed to be your warrior." Well, I had to make some changes, since it would interfear with a fanfic I'm making in the future about my real warrior in ThunderClan. So you'll see Icestorm in that. ^^ But this cat does represent me in this story- naming her Icestorm would be too confusing. Because if I named her Icestorm and then started another fanfic with a cat named Icestorm that was a different cat, it would be waaaay too confusing. Lol, I hope I didn't confuse you further. Summing it, I am Icepool in this story, Icestorm in another story. But Icestorm is my warrior. Icepool represents me.
