It all started in early leaf-bare. When I discovered that I was going to have a kit, I panicked. Medicine cats were forbidden to have kits, and I knew that StarClan would be angry. When I told Crowfeather, he was thinking the same thing as me. He felt devastation for me and the kit, but he also had a feeling of excitement. He wished me luck, and that was all I was left with. I was lucky, because the day before I expected to give birth, my sister Squirrelflight had a litter of two fine kits. No one else except me and her had witnessed it; even Ferncloud had not been there. I reminded myself to slip my kit in with hers, and bravely headed out into the cold. A blizzard greeted me as I exited camp. My heart stung, as if I was leaving my soul behind. That's what it felt like, for my world was washing away as I knew it. I trekked down towards the lake until I found an abandoned badger set. No cat would look for me here. And besides, medicine cats were known for straying from the camp at the most unusual times; such as in the middle of a blizzard. The kitting was the best and worst time of my life. I knew I was to have a kit, but I also knew that I could not tell anybody, not even Squirrelflight, that I had done so. I chewed slowly on the healing herbs I had brought along and waited for it to be over. At last, I was rubbing and licking a scrawny ball of fur in my desperation to keep it alive. If it was to die, I wouldn't make it this early. My kit had to survive, or my life would be broken. The kit's jaw's opened in a wordless mew, and my heart soared. However happy I was, I wasn't foolish. I would need to wait a while until my kit was able to travel. So, over the course of another day, I kept my hopes up. It was still cold and snowing on the day I set off for camp, but I had no choice. The Clan would go berserk if their medicine cat went missing. My kit stumbled along feebly behind me as I called to it- "Come here, come, this way." The light shed from the pale half moon above cast eerie shadows behind every tree and boulder, giving the land a dim prospect. I arrived at the camp a little after moonhigh, and went straight to the nursery. "Squirrelflight!" I hissed, prodding my sister in the side. "Leafpool? Is that you?" Squirrelflight asked drowsily. She looked up at me. "It's moonhigh. What could possibly be bad enough to-" then she caught sight of the kit. The ginger she-cat shifted in her nest, and her kits mewled pitifully. "Where did that kit come from?" she demanded. "Shh!" I snapped. "Keep it down!" I glanced towards Ferncloud, but she was still fast asleep. Breathing a sigh of relief, I continued. "I was looking for herbs down by the lake," I lied, when I found this kit. It was abandoned, and I want you to take care of it." I was glad that I had rolled the kit in badger dung and snow-covered bushes on the way back. Squirrelflight sniffed the kit and wrinkled her nose. "He smells horrible," she mewed. Then she nodded. "I'll take him," she mewed. She licked him gently. "What shall his name be?" I looked outside at the rest of the camp. Without turning around, I replied, "Jaykit."
*** "The kits have opened their eyes!" purred Brambleclaw. "Do you want to come and see, Leafpool?" I looked up from the pile of berries I was separating. "Sure," I purred, following the tabby tom to the nursery. Squirrelflight sat there, smiling down at all three kits, who were rolling all over each other and squealing like mice. "Aren't they beautiful?" she breathed. Hollykit and Lionkit, Squirrelflight's two original kits, seemed to be having a good time, batting at each other with their tiny paws. But Jaykit, my kit, was stumbling around like he didn't know where he was going. I wondered if there was something wrong with him- maybe he had a sprain, or he was crippled. I looked to the roof of the den and asked StarClan to send a sign. And it came. For a long moment, I couldn't see anything. My world was blackened, and I too began to stumble and lose my footing. I cried, "Help!" and then sight returned to me. "Are you ok?" asked Squirrelflight. She looked at me with horror in her eyes. "I'm fine," I muttered. But nothing I said could disguise the truth- StarClan had punished me, for sure. My kit was blind.

Wow this is fabby! It's a brilliant idea for a fanfic, and it's kinda like Yellowfang cause she's a medicine cat, and she has a kit but it grows up to be evil and she thinks StarClan punished her! Cool! ;D ;D ;D
Oh yeah...almost forgot... *exalts* lol! ;D

I always thought Jaypaw was Leafpools' kit, too-but I think Hollypaw might also be. She's black like Crowy, so...yeah. It's kind of hinting throughout Warriors that Jaypaw and maybe Hollypaw were Leafpools' kits, once you read Sunset over and over (Leafpool is a little bigger in Sunset) and After Sunset, clues are all around.
