Title: Last Warrior Standing Chapters: AT LEAST 11, but maybe more. Author: SandsofTime Pairing: GoldxLeaf, DarkxLeaf, CrushedxFox, NightxMoon Rating: PG Spoilers: None! Summary: The Clans are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and, of course, StarClan. We will center on WaterClan. I will not spoil the story. Warning: No REALLY graphic violence, but yes, there will be blood and death. Also, the only words that might be considered bad are: "idiot/ idioic", "stupid", and "What the heck?" Disclaimer: I do not own Warriors! Beta: none Cover: none Prolouge It was cold. Very, very cold. Snow fell slowly, as if scared to leave the sky where the moon was hidden. The medicine cat watched the last leaf on the sycamore start to fall. It started to fall lazily, then the wind snatched it up. It flew through the air then dissappeared. Flametail's eyes closed. A gray tom with a white face and amber eyes walked to Flametail. "Have you had a sign?" Flametail didn't move. "Death will fall when two love one." Amberstar, the tom, jumped back, his eyes wide open. He regained his composure before he spoke again. "Do you know when?" Flametail opened her eyes slowly, as if coming out of sleep. "I do not know for sure. Though I do have a feeling that the trouble will start next leaf-fall." Amberstar sighed. "Well at least we have one thing. But what will happen, and will we survive?"

Chapter 1 The wind was getting colder by the day. Darkwind watched the leaves on the trees and immeadatly thought of Leafpaw. Today was her Warrior ceremony. Darkwind thought lovingly of those stripes the circled around and around her body, those loving amber eyes, that perfect stream-lined tail! To Darkwind, Leafpaw was the lovliest thing on four paws.perfect in every single detail. Darkwind's dark black fur rippled over his lean muscles as he dug up the voles he had caught earlier. He was lucky they were so plump. Leaf-fall was starting to bring it's chill. He hurried back towards the camp. He leaped over the tributary of the stream and river easily, he didn't feel like getting wet. A frog watched reproachfully as he sailed over it. Didn't cats have better things to do than jump over frogs? But Darkwind wasn't thinking about that right now. He was only thinking of Leafpaw. He walked carefully over the log-bridge that was hidden by a grove of weeping willows. The rough bark was hard to walk on, but he managed. He burst into camp. The Leader, Amberstar was calling a meeting already! Darkwind hurridly put his voles on the Fresh-kill pile. He sat under Meetingtree. Meetingtree was a weeping willow that the leader could address the Clan from. The leader also lived in a hollow inside, padding it carefully with moss. He watched Leafpaw sit expectantly as Amberstar started the ancient ceremony: "I, Amberstar, leader of WaterClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn." He looked down apon Leafpaw. She shivered with excitement and Darkwind felt so glad for her. The wind blew frostily as if it were angry that no one was paying attention to it. Amberstar went on, "Leafpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend this Clan, even at the cost of your lives?" "I do," said Leafpaw steadily. "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name: Leafpaw, from this moment you will be known as Leafspiral. StarClan honors your bravery and your strength, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WaterClan." Amberstar rested his muzzle on Leafspiral's head. Darkwind rushed to Leafspiral as soon as Amberstar straightened up. "Oh I am so glad for you Leafspiral! This is so wonderful..." he meowed as he rubbed against her slender body. Goldfeather walked up too. "Leafspiral." he greeted the young she-cat warmly. "What a perfect name for you. I hope you have the est life of any in this Clan." "Thank you, both of you." The sadness in her eyes was heartbreaking. "But how can I love you both? I cannot have two mates. I'm sorry Goldfeather, but I love Darkwind more." Darkwind and Leafspiral kept their tails twined as the went towards the fresh-kill pile, leaving Goldfeather alone, his tail trailing in the dust.

Sorry for not doing this earlier! I had NO access to my computer for a while 'cus I was at my Grandma's and it was a surprise so I didn't know....... anyways, here goes nothing! Chapter 2 Goldfeather watched as Leafspiral and Darkwind walked away, tails intertwining, ever together. He turned away harshly, angry becuase of the bolt from the blue that had been Leafspiral's...Leafspiral's...Leafspiral's what? Goldfeather could not think of a good word. He stood up tall, as the sun danced hapilily against his back, but he only felt the crisp, cold air. He walked towards the warrior's den, not hungry for freshkill anymore. He just didn't care. He padded into the den, fell deep inside his soft nest, and into a restless sleep where his dreams and memories haunted him.
"Come on Flame. We haven't finished." "Coming." Flame walked slowly behind his mother, eager, but anxious, about what would happen. He was going to the Clans! Finally, Chaos stopped. Her gray tabby fur and bue eyes searched him. After a few minutes she sighed. "Go to those Clans, do what you like Flame. But remember, born rouge, to rouge you shall return. I will see you again, or not as the case may be. But until you return, I will lead our people for now." And with that said, she left Flame, and, even at 3 moons, he knew there was no going back.
Born rouge...to rouge you shall return...lead out people...for now...Goldfeather opened his eyes after a night that did him no good. He lifted is head, then left the warmth of the den. he stepped out into the clearing and proceeded his way to the freshkill pile, where jeers were thrown at him, but he didn't care. "Hey, not good enough?" "Cold nest tonight!" "Yeah! Better work extra hard, might change her mind!" After picking up a small mouse, for he still wasn't very hungry, Goldfeather settled down in a dark, shady corner of the camp, between the elders den and the medicine cat's. As he finished his mouse Flametail, the medicine cat, walked out of the leader's den, back into the shady depths of hers. Goldfeather walked briskly out of camp, leaving most of the mouse behind. He had decided to go hunting alone, and remembering what his mother had told him long ago.

SO SORRY!!! The only thing you need to know is that my e-mail went down for a time. Anyways: Chapter 3"Hey! Darkwind! Do you want to go on patrol with me and Moongaze?" Darkwind raised his head. It was midday. He asked the deputy, Foxwing, if he could bring Leafspiral. Foxwing nodded. "Amberstar wants me to take three cats with me. I just didn't know who else I should pick." He turned and meowed over his shoulder, "We'll be patrolling the EarthClan border, not the FireClan one. Meet you at the entrance to camp." Darkwind roused Leafspiral. "We're going on patrol," he said softly. "EarthClan border. You can eat on the way." Leafspiral gazed at him. "Okay." She jumped out of her nest and ran to the entrance. Darkwind followed. As he neared the entrance, he bumped into Goldfeather, who was carrying 5 mice in his mouth. Goldfeather glared at him. The golden cat pushed on, dropping they prey onto the fresh-kill pile. He turned to go out the entrance again, but Foxwing stopped him. Foxwing said, "Where are you going?" Goldfeather meowed defiantly, "Tornwaters to get 3 more mice, 7 fish, and 2 water-voles." Darkwind noted that Goldfeather was a good hunter. The Clan didn't want to lose him, for all his other failures. "Get an apprentice to get the rest. You're lead a patrol to the FireClan border. Take 3 cats. Come on Moongaze, Darkwind, Leafspiral." Foxwing didn't bother staying to see if Goldfather listen or not. But Darkwind didn't notice anything but the thrill of being with Leafspiral, running, and patrolling together in the never ending Clan life.

Okay Okay! I KNOW you are secretly angry at me for taking so long! MUHAHAHA! I don't really have the time to post one every day...so you have to put up with this! Bare with me please! Chapter 4 Goldfeather watched them walk away. Hissing in anger he turned to the warriors den, not noticing that Moongaze glanced back at him sympathetically. Goldfeather stalke to the entrance. "Nightpelt, Shadowfoot, Sunclaw." "Can Moongaze come?" asked Nightwind, Moongaze's mate. He had been asleep so he didn't know the Moongaze had left, but Goldfeather felt annoyed anyway. "No. She is one patrol with Foxwing." he mewed quietly in Nightpelt's ear, "She really adores him you know." To Goldfeather's surprise, Nightpelt mewed calmly, "Well she would, him being deputy and all." "I guess..." Goldfeather mumbled. Sunclaw stared at Goldfeather like he was mousebile. "Well, lets go already!" "Okay! Okay! Wow I'm amazed you didn't wash just for the occasion!" Everycat knew how much Sunclaw loved to wash. He made sure it was always shiny, earning him the name Sunclaw. Sunclaw hissed in anger and leaped upon Goldfeather, but Goldfeather was ready and waiting. He yowled loudly with his claws open and raked one accross the other cat's ear. Sun claw hissed at the blood ruining the shine on his coat and slashed Goldfeather's nose. Goldfeather came back with a bite to the foreleg, rubbing his red nose in Sunclaw's fur. Yowling madly, Sunclaw tried to shake off Goldfeather but he clung on. "Hey! Stop it! Stop it I say! Stoooop!" Amberstar glared at the to fighters. "You two. Apprentice duty until you learn how to act." He turned to go. Sunclaw stare in horror. "Apprentice duty? But--" "That is the price for disobeying me." "Sometime I'm going to stop you all in your tracks. Here, I'm nothing but dirt. With my people, or rouges as you say, I am better than any leader," one gold cat thought.

Finally! Chapter 5 coming right up... Chapter 5 Now the whole Clan knew about the two "apprentices". Darkwind had mewed in pleasure when he heard about it, but when Leafspiral gave him a disapproving stare, he shut up. He sighed. Leafspiral seemed to have something on her mind. Was it becuase of how she dumped Goldfeather? He hoped not. But if it was... Darkwind shook his head to clear those nagging thoughts away. Goldfeather deserved it. He was a hoity-toity pile of mousedung, always nosing into other cats relationships. Huh. As he walked to the freshkill pile(for his 2nd mouse), Goldfeather burst in carrying 3 voles swinging by the tails and a rabbit balanced on his back. The gold cat dropped the freshkill, and paused to lick a badly bleeding paw. "Why thank you!" crowed Darkwind. Goldfeather looked at him. He hissed, "I hope you get a bellyache. Serves you right." "How dare you." "'How dare you'." Goldfeather mimicked. "How dare you for what? For being a snob?" Wisely, Goldfeather started walking to the medicine cat's den. Darkwind yowled and jumped at Goldfeather's back, unwittingly forgetting 2 things. 1 was Goldfeather was a moving target, Darkwind would probally miss. The other was you could not attack an oppenent with their back turned. Amberstar saw this move, but he didn't do anything.

Thanks! I hope you feel sorry for both! But why didn't Amberstar do anything? You might find out!
Chapter 6
Goldfeather jumped out of the way and limped to the medicine cat's den. He had seen Amberstar looking straight at them. Amberstar hadn't done a thing. Goldfeather knew why. He sighed. Would anything EVER work right? He walked into the shady den. "Hey! You come back here Goldfeather!" Darkwind burst into the den and flicked Goldfeather onto his back, teeth snapping at Goldfeather's neck. His teeth found purchase. Goldfeather scrabbled at Darkwind's belly as hard as he could, but to no avail. Suddenly Goldfeather pushed Darkwind off, and landed him on his back. "Don't do it again. You hear me?" Amberstar walked in. "Goldfeather! What are you doing?!" Darkwind cried out, "Goldfeather attacked me first!!" "Are you Goldfeather?" "No." "Well?" Goldfeather meowed quietly, "I may have egged him on, but he did attack first." "But you egged Darkwind on?" "Yes." "You will not go to the gathering tonight, Goldfeather. And more apprentice duty. Go hunt for the elders." "But I just got back from that! And my paw is bleeding!" Amberstar's voice was cold. "Get patched up and go." Darkwind smirked, "See you at the Gathering tonight Goldfeather! Oh! Whoops! You're not going!" He laughed. Goldfeather just glared.

Goldfeather got in SO much trouble that-hey, what's wrong?" DArkwind said. His bely clenched in a knot of fear. Leafspiral was just standing there, watching something that Darkwind didn't turn around to see. A single tear fell down her cheek. "What's wrong?! Do you-Do you need to go to the medicine cat?" Leafspiral snapped back to reality. "Oh. I'm just uh.... nervous. THats all." "NERVOUS?!?! NERVOUS FOR WHAT?!?!" "Uh...The Gathering..Its my first time as a warrior. Also, the whole Clan is staring at you."
"Oh." Darkwind looked at the Clan. "Well, move it on! Can't stand there all day!!!" Darkwind heard Goldfeather mutter, "But you can." as he walked out to hunt-some more! Darkwind gasped. This had gone to far. "RAWR!!" he yowled. "You are such an idiot Goldfeather!" He jumped goldfeather and attacked blindly. But the Clan was still watching. To them it looked like Darkwind had attacked Goldfeather for no reason. THey pulled Darkwind back. "HEY!!" the crowd cried. "What are you thinking?? You had no right just to attack him!" Darkwind didn't hear. He only saw Goldfeather. And-could it be? LeafspiraL was with Goldfeather! What side was she own anyway?
