Title: Crossing Prophecies And Souls (subject to change)
Chapters: Probably about 40, and I need to make them longer so it’ll fit here!!
Author: Silverfog, me.
Pairings: I kept the ones from The New Prophecy for the actual Warrior Clans, and there’s some for the Tribes.
Spoilers: The New Prophecy, but I haven’t read Power of Three.
Warnings: Some violence and romance, so probably about G or PG, but it’s not major gore, or mating scenes.
Summary: Cat Tribes living in the jungle receive a prophecy of plague, fire, blood and storms, but also the keys to save them; 5 young warriors, who to save their Tribes must cross the jungle, a forest, a desert, and meet the Cat Clans, whom they will help fulfill their own prophecy… But will they get back in time to help?
Disclaimer: I didn’t invent the original Warriors series, Erin Hunter did, but the cat Tribes and all of the names other than the ones from the Clans are my own creation. If I owned Warriors, Leafpool would have stayed with Crowfeather, and the original Cinderpelt would still be alive. Also, I did not copy anyone’s name of this forum, so I’m sorry if I used it accidentally.
Please review, as this is my first posted fanfic!
The Tribes, InfernoTribe, StormTribe, and MoonTribe, other than MoonTribe, are the same as the Clans, but with a different vocabulary and naming system; here are the changes.
The first part of their name, given when they’re a kit, is their color. ‘Ex: Black’
Then, when they become a warrior or healer, they’re given a noun that has to do with nature. ‘Ex: Blackflower’ and if they become a leader, it ends in moon. Ex: Blackmoon.
Den= Hollow Dawn= Sun-rise
Medicine Cat= Healer Gathering= Tribe-Summons
Apprentice= Student If there’s others you notice that you don’t understand, just post, and I’ll explain.
MoonTribe: The Tribe of healers (medicine cats) and pacifists. They do the healing for the other two Tribes, and take in the queens who’re close to kitting and the ancients (elders) of both Tribes. No fighting is permitted on their territory. They’re the smallest Tribe, as not many want to follow the path of a healer. Their members are allowed to have kits, to keep all the Tribes’ numbers up, as their offspring is allowed to leave to become a warrior in another Tribe or remain to become a healer. The learners (apprentices) from other Tribes, if they so desire, could join MoonTribe to be a healer.
Chapter 1
I realized I was dreaming when, as I stepped into the small leader’s hollow, I saw Skymoon, the former leader of InfernoTribe, who had been with SkyTribe since a season ago. The pretty queen purred in welcome. “Sit down, young warrior.” I obeyed without thinking, and I mewed quietly, “What does a leader of SkyTribe such as yourself want with me, the youngest InfernoTribe warrior?” She suddenly looked grave. “Great trouble is coming to the jungle… You will have to withstand all the power of plague, fire, and heavens against you, as you and four others are SkyTribe’s chosen, to lead your Tribes through this time of darkness, and your life will never be the same again.” She closed her eyes, and rasping in a meow completely unlike her own, said, “The new champions will rise as queens fall to the shadows, kit-blood on their paws… Fire, water and sky will change the jungle to darkness, and fall to light as the moon rises, bringing with it healing and understanding, but changing one of our number forever, changing their future, as the star-chosens’ will never become.” Resuming her normal voice, she growled gravely, “Remember my words, and heed their meaning. It may not be clear now, but if you cannot listen to the jungle, your mission will fail, dooming the Tribes forever… Go to the SkyTree at half-moon, and you can meet the others who have been chosen.” She disappeared, leaving me alone in my dark, confusing thoughts, shrouded in moonlight.
I woke up, thrashing around, and waking other warriors with the noise and movement. “It’s not even sun-rise yet!” growled Clouddust, an older warrior, flicking me lightly with his tail. Another queen, Froststorm, hissed loudly, “I wouldn’t expect her to know what she’s doing; she’s almost still a student!” Amberspark, the young deputy of my Triberolled his eyes; for some unfathomable reason, he looked shaken as well, a rare event, then shook his head; perhaps he’d had a strange dream? “Froststorm, you talk too much! Now that you’ve woken me up, do you want to go hunting?” She purred in acquisition, looking smugly towards me, puzzling me slightly, but I was still distracted, still lost in my wonderings of what Skymoon’s dangerous prophecy would mean, and wondering whom the other chosens could be.
