Title: Death's Calling
Chapters: 11-20, maybe more
Author: Heartsong(Me!)
Pairing: I dunno, I shall list them when I'm done with the fan-fic.
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: None
Summary: Ever since Beartooth's death, the forest seemed to be at peace, especially for the new deputy, Weavingstream. Her strong belief in the warrior code and loyalty to her Clan made her the obvious choice to Treestar. But when an apprentice was mysteriously slaughtered in her sleep, a new prophecy unfolds, and only Weavingstream can stop the angry spirit of Beartooth from destroying her leader - and herself.
Warning: I don't think anything will be too bad in this, just maybe lots of battles.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Warriors books or any other things Erin Hunter might create, because if I did, Firestar would be dead and Runningwind would still be alive... *sniff*
Beta: Myself.
Cover: None
Author's Notes: Hi! I'm still going to write my other fic, The Three Stones, but this just popped into my head one day and I decided it was good enough to post on here. So, here it is: Death's Calling.
The forest was quiet as usual.
A lone tabby cat solemnly stared down at what was left of her old enemy. After his death, WoodClan would be left in peace once more, and no one would dare challenge them, not even GrassClan.
"You were always dead to me, Beartooth," The tabby hissed, her green eyes flashing. "From the very start, you were dead!" The brown tom shifted his head around to look at her, yellow eyes blazing as he spoke. "I thought you were a sensible leader. A noble cat! I even looked up to you, and-"
"No, Beartooth!" The she-cat hissed. "You always looked down on me... until I became leader instead of you. After than, you began to respect me - or so I thought." Beartooth narrowed his eyes and growled, "I always thought of you as air-headed, Treestar. I could never respect you." Treestar bared her teeth. "Let me finish!"
"We are here now because you tried to kill me. Your own sister, Beartooth! Where is the honor in that?" Her brother snapped his head around to look up at her, eyes blazing in fury and desperation. "You are standing over your dying brother, which you have very much crippled with your own claws. Do not talk to me about honor!"
Treestar's eyes softened as she leaned towards him and looked him square in the eye. "Beartooth, you know this must happen. For the sake of the Clans. You are the only danger in the forest - and so I must eliminate that. Farewell, brother - we shall never meet again. The danger will be gone forever."
Treestar lifted her paw, unsheathing the beautifully sharpened claws, and brought it down upon Beartooth's head. Blood gushed from one of the many wounds she had given him that night as he rasped with his final breath: "You will pay for this, Treestar! You and your whole Clan will pay. I shall be powerful even in death, and my spirit will live on until your final breath is taken - by my claws."
As the warmth from Beartooth's body faded, Treestar knew peace would not be found until her jealous brother got what he wanted. Blinking, she muttered to herself, "At least he's gone for now." The she-cat kicked dust onto her dead enemy's body before returning to her Clan to announce the new deputy.
