Prologue: Sabre's Uprising
"You lied! You promised I would live by the lady's side! I would live on the plush life of the top floor! You promised, yet you lied. You lied about everything! Your not one of these cats really, are you? You've just been freeloading! Well you go, and live your life of sorrow and scrounging, Id rather live among these cats who are loved" The young tawny femme, who even at her age was the size of her parents, took one last look at the two cats who had birthed her and raised her, and ran off into the Manor, leaving two grief stricken parents behind.

But a large tabby, Swallow, mocked her. He was the dominant tom of the Ground Floor Cats. Sabre grew frustrated and angry at this exclusion. She began to hide among the shadows, but Swallow still found her. When he tried to bring his son, Hawthorn, no older than Sabre himself into it, the tom refused. Swallow, angered at his son's ignorance, struck the light tom across the cheek, leaving a red gash. It hit a chord in Sabres ever freezing heart, and she lashed out at Swallow, pushing him down. To shocked to react fastly enough, Sabre tore his throat out, and Swallow died that day.

The ground floor cats became afraid of Sabre, and so did the Top Floor cats. Sabre had developed a hatred for the males of her species. Soon she gathered followers, all femmes, and the became the Cellar Cats. They lived in the shadows and terrorized the cats above.
She stole a mate from the ground floor cats, and birthed five kits All were toms, bar one. The tiny femme died, and Sabre, disgusted at the toms, slaughtered them all, apart from one. No-one knew quite why his live was saved, but she called him Cinq, and gave him to the ground floor cats. She gave Dane the cat equivalent of "the cutter", sterilizing him so he could not poison her, ash she put it, with any more disgusting toms. Since, he has become a warning for any toms.

At this present day, Hawthorn took his fathers position. He never once said anything against Sabre, for in his eyes she was his Saviour from a cruel father. Now, he needs to take a mate, but Hawthorn, being Hawthorn, just had to set his eyes on the hardest target of all.
