Nobody's Home
I couldn't tell you why she felt that way,
She felt it everyday.
And I couldn't help her,
I just watched her make the same mistakes again.
"Brook..."
"Brook, please don't cry..."
Whatever he tried, Stormfur couldn't get her to stop.
The tears flowed down from her eyes, like the
waterfall where she once lived. Back when she was a
prey-hunter for the Tribe of Rushing Water.
What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs, where she belongs.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
"No one here understands!" Brook wailed, her cry
echoing throgh the empty warriors den. It was just
him and her. No one else. But the beautiful she-cat
was crying her heart out - and Stormfur didn't know
what to do.
"Stormfur, I must go back!" Good StarClan, she
sounded so desperate! Her beautifly strange accent
was covered by the sobs she sputtered every now
and then.
"Brook," he meowed quietly, "You know as well as I
do that we can't do that."
Her feelings she hides.
Her dreams she can't find.
She's losing her mind.
She's fallen behind.
She can't find her place.
She's losing her faith.
She's fallen from grace.
She's all over the place.
Yeah, Ooh,
"They all hate me, Stormfur!"
It was true. Although it seemed that she had been
accepted into the Clan, some cats still didn't trust
her. Stormfur felt them as if they were directed onto
his storm-gray pelt and hidden from his ears instead
of hers. The hostile stares. In fact, every night for the
past moon Brook had slept closer to him, not willing
to let her pelt brush any cat but his.
She wants to go home, but nobody's home.
It's where she lies, broken inside.
With no place to go, no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
"I need to go home," she whispered as she closed
her eyes, as if she could preserve all the scents and
sounds and sights of her former mountain home on
her eyelids.
"But you are home," now Stormfur was desperate.
His father was back, and, however angry he was at
him for taking a kittypet as his mate, he couldn't go
back to the mountains. And even if they did start a
journey to Brook's first home, what was there to go
back to?
She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh yeah
She's lost inside, lost inside...oh oh yeah
At last, Brook's sniffling stopped. Her eyes became
clear.
"Stormfur?"
"Yes?"
"I love you."
