Title: All The Things She Said
Chapters: One-shot
Author: Darkstar
Pairing: Leafpool/Spottedleaf
Rating: PG
Spoilers: I don't really think it has any true spoilers.
Summary: Why does Spottedleaf visit Leafpool so frequently? Perhaps its because she is in love, and perhaps Leafpool enjoys the visits, for she too is in love.
Warning: Contains slight swearing, some violence, and femslash.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Warriors series, nor do I own the song 'All the things she said'.
Beta: N/A
Cover: M/A
Author's Notes: If you dislike femslash, please do not flame me. I don't really like it either, but I thought I'd explore this pairing in a way.
I'm in serious shit, I feel totally lost
If I'm asking for help it's only because
Being with you has opened my eyes
Could I ever believe such a perfect surprise?
Spottedleaf closed her eyes as she walked down the path to Leafpool's dreams. Another visit with the one she desired, the one she wanted to have, but could never. It wasn't a formal visit, no prophecy to discuss, no mysterious omens to give. It was a time to be with Leafpool, all alone, in the land of dreams. But would Leafpool be open to just a visit? Surely she would expect some sort of a sign? .. Unless of course, she felt the same way as Spottedleaf did..
I keep asking myself, wondering how
I keep closing my eyes but I can't block you out
Wanna fly to a place where it's just you and me
Nobody else so we can be free
Leafpool twitched in her sleep as Spottedleaf entered her dreams. Her eyes were wide, and filled with an unknown emotion, what could she be feeling? How could this be happening? Was she actually falling in love with a long-dead medicine cat? ... Everytime she closed her eyes, Spottedleaf would visit her, it was as if she couldn't block her out, no matter how hard she tried.
"Spottedleaf," she murmured.
And I'm all mixed up, feeling cornered and rushed
They say it's my fault but I want her so much
Wanna fly her away where the sun and rain
Come in over my face, wash away all the shame
"Hello Leafpool," said Spottedleaf as the scenery around them changed to a lucious meadow filled with beautiful flowers and a sparkling stream running right through the middle of it all. "I don't have a prophecy for you this time, I was just feeling -- lonely." What would all of StarClan think of her informal visit to Spottedleaf? It didn't matter. She wanted to be with Leafpool so much that she didn't care what happened.
When they stop and stare - don't worry me
'Cause I'm feeling for her what she's feeling for me
I can try to pretend, I can try to forget
But it's driving me mad, going out of my head
"That's alright, I've been feeling lonely too, and I've wanted to see you -- anyway." Leafpool said, her words coming out scrambled and rushed. She gazed at Spottedleaf, looking at her beautiful dappled coat. No wonder her father had been in love with this gorgeous she-cat. But she couldn't have Spottedleaf. There was no way they could be together, she wasn't dead like the medicine cat was. That was the only way they could be free. In StarClan, together.
All the things she said
All the things she said
Running through my head
Running through my head
Running through my head
"Leafpool, do you want to stay with me -- forever?" Spottedleaf asked, hoping she wasn't being too straightforeward. She couldn't help herself, just looking at Leafpool's tabby figure made her want to melt right on the spot. Leafpool seemed a bit worried, and Spottedleaf began to grow worried too. But finally, Leafpool spoke up..
This is not enough..
"Yes, of course I do."
Leafpool lifted her head high, exposing her neck, watching Spottedleaf, hoping she would get the message. "Just you visiting in my dreams isn't enough, Spottedleaf, I want to stay with you... forever..." She felt Spottedleaf's starry claws sink into her throat, and blood gushed out across the den, leaking onto the dirt floor. The life in her eyes was slowly fading, and the last thing she heard was Firestar's yowl of horror...
This is not enough..
Spottedleaf watched as Leafpool's spirit entered the ranks of StarClan, she gave a slight smile, knowing that they could be together forever, in a place of freedom and beauty. Nobody else, so we can be free.. "I love you, Leafpool," she whispered.
"I love you, Spottedleaf."
Then the two she-cats leaped off into the starry territory of StarClan, to forever watch over the clans, and to hunt the star-prey, together, forever... In a place where they could be free...
All the things she said, all the things she said, running through my head, running through my head, running through my head..
